2026 Mercedes GLE Facelift Revealed

Mercedes has revealed the GLE facelift for 2026 and it shows you how far modern luxury SUVs have come. It is not just about size or road presence anymore. Today, it is about how intelligently a car can think, how comfortably it can drive, and how easily it fits into everyday life. With this update, Mercedes-Benz has focused on improving almost every part of the GLE, making it more refined and more advanced than before.

Under the hood, the GLE offers a wide range of engines to suit different needs. The GLE 450 4MATIC comes with a 3.0-litre inline-6 turbo petrol engine that produces around 375 hp and 560 Nm of torque, making it smooth and responsive. The GLE 450e plug-in hybrid combines a petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering strong performance along with an electric-only range of over 100 km, which is useful for daily city drives. For those who want maximum performance, the GLE 580 4MATIC gets a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing close to 530 hp and 750 Nm of torque, offering effortless power.

Diesel options like the GLE 350d and 450d focus more on efficiency and long-distance comfort, with strong torque and better fuel economy. All engines also get mild-hybrid support, which improves efficiency and makes the driving experience even smoother. At the same time the suspension has become smarter. It can now adjust itself even before hitting a bump, thanks to cloud-based technology.

Technology plays a huge role in this new GLE. The latest operating system, powered by artificial intelligence, makes the car feel more like a smart device on wheels. The large MBUX Superscreen adds to this experience, giving both the driver and passenger access to entertainment, navigation, and controls in a simple and modern way. It is not just about having more screens, but about making everything easier and more intuitive to use.

Design has also been updated, but in a subtle and classy way. The new grille, illuminated star, and sharper lighting elements give the GLE a stronger identity on the road. Inside, the cabin feels warmer and more premium, with better materials and a more personalised environment. It continues to offer the space and practicality that buyers expect, while adding a stronger emotional connect.

Even after more than a century since the invention of the car, Mercedes-Benz continues to push forward. The new GLE is set to arrive in India early next year, following the launch of the S-Class facelift.
