Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the updated 2026 Mercedes-Maybach GLS 680, bringing a series of cosmetic revisions, interior upgrades and mechanical improvements to its flagship luxury SUV. The facelift introduces refreshed styling, an upgraded V8 engine and additional technology features.
At the front, the SUV receives redesigned LED headlamps with updated daytime running light signatures, along with a revised grille featuring illuminated detailing and Maybach branding. Buyers can also opt for an illuminated Mercedes-Benz bonnet emblem. The front bumper has been subtly redesigned, while two new exterior paint finishes – Dark Petrol and Verde Silver Metallic – have been added to the colour palette.
The side profile remains largely unchanged, although the updated model now comes with new 22-inch alloy wheels as standard, while 23-inch monoblock wheels are available as an option. Illuminated powered side steps and door-mounted Maybach logo projectors continue to be part of the package.
At the rear, the facelifted GLS 680 features redesigned LED tail-lamps connected by a gloss black trim strip. The rear bumper sees only minor styling revisions.
Inside the cabin, the biggest change is the introduction of Mercedes-Benz’s Hyperscreen setup, comprising three 12.3-inch displays for the instrument cluster, infotainment system and front passenger. The system runs the latest MB.OS software and supports over-the-air (OTA) updates along with an AI assistant that integrates ChatGPT, Google Gemini and Microsoft Copilot.
The dashboard layout has also been revised with wider central air vents, while physical controls for the four-zone climate control system have been retained. Mercedes-Benz says the cabin now benefits from additional sound insulation to further improve refinement.
Other updates include enhanced massage functions for the front seats, rear-seat footrest massage, new upholstery choices and an upgraded Burmester 3D surround sound system featuring 15 speakers and a 710W amplifier.
Powering the updated Maybach GLS 680 is the latest version of Mercedes-Benz’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine. It now produces 603 HP and 850 Nm of torque, representing an increase over the outgoing model. A 48V mild-hybrid system also provides a temporary power boost of 23 HP.
Mercedes-Benz has additionally revised the steering calibration and updated the standard air suspension with predictive damping technology. Using cloud-based road data collected from other Mercedes vehicles, the system can automatically adjust suspension settings to optimise ride comfort and handling.
