2026 Volkswagen Taigun Unveiled, Very Few Changes

Volkswagen has unveiled the facelifted Taigun and the prices will be announced in the next few days. The compact SUV was first launched in 2021, and 5 years down the line, the facelifted model gets a few changes inside out.

On the outside, the updated Volkswagen Taigun gets a new grille with an extended DRL, illuminated VW logo, slimmer headlamps and a new front bumper. Surprisingly, Volkswagen has removed the front fog lamps from the vehicle. Nothing much has changed from the side apart from the redesigned alloy wheels. At the rear, the connected tail lamps continue as before but the detailing within the lights has been updated.

Talking about the cabin, the Taigun now comes with a panoramic sunroof. It also gets an updated infotainment system with a new UI and more features (similar to the Kushaq). The vehicle also gets a new instrument cluster now. Apart from that, it gets features like front ventilated seats, front electric seats, auto-dimming IRVM, etc. The vehicle misses out on ADAS and a 360-degree camera. While its cousin the Skoda Kushaq comes with rear massaging seats, this feature has been skipped on the Taigun.

Under the hood, the Taigun comes with the same engines as before. The 1.0 TSI engine making 115 PS and 178 Nm now gets an 8-speed TC while the 1.5 TSI delivering 150 PS and 250 Nm continues with the same 7-speed DSG. No other mechanical changes have been made to the vehicle.

The Volkswagen Taigun rivals the Skoda Kushaq, Tata Sierra, Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, MG Astor, Honda Elevate and Kia Seltos.
