All New Mahindra Bolero Launch By 2015

Mahindra Bolero Front

Mahindra is working on the new Bolero which is expected to be launched by 2015. Determined to keep the characteristic Bolero look the same, there will be minor exterior changes like new head lamps, bumper and graphics but the interiors are bound to get utmost attention to give the SUV, a more car like feel. The Mahindra Bolero has proven to be very practical in terms of a utility vehicle since its first launch and it satisfied the conditions of pricing, performance, space and fuel-efficiency. With time, the Bolero got better with comfortable interiors, air-conditioning, refined engine and much more. The current Bolero in the market was launched in 2011, completely equipped with digital display, voice messaging system and key-less entry.

The 2015 Mahindra Bolero is expected to be pinned to a new chassis design which is lighter and stronger than the current tubular frame ladder chassis. The new hydro-formed ladder chassis could also support other Mahindra SUV’s in the future. The current Bolero is powered by a 2.5-litre m2DiCR engine. But the new one could possess a milder mHawk engine specially tweaked for the Bolero. This engine will be tuned for mileage and will offer decent performance as well.

Mahindra’s best selling SUV till date could continue to do so if it is priced competitively. Keeping this in mind, the company plans to use most of the existing inventory of parts which are used in other Mahindra vehicles. The Bolero definitely offers better comfort and features as compared to its market competitor Tata Sumo. But it remains to be seen how Mahindra prices these add-on features and ultimately how competitive the 2015 Bolero will be priced. The 2011 Bolero, which has sold 1,07,890 units in the 2011-12 fiscal year, is priced between Rs. 5.6 lakhs (non-AC plus variant) to Rs. 6.9 lakhs for the BS IV ZLX variant (ex-showroom).
