Aprilia Tuareg 660 Spied Undergoing On-Road Testing

The motorcycle has a distinctive styling

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 has been spotted undergoing on-road testing overseas and the bodywork at least looks to be production-spec.

Having a potent 660cc twin-cylinder motor at their disposal, it is understandable that Aprilia’s engineers could not resist but develop multiple models that will be powered by the unit.

Having already revealed the RS 660 and recently the Tuono 660, the middleweight model lineup of the brand will now get a bike that can be thrashed around on-road and off-road.

Aprilia’s Tuareg 660 is a very simple bike to look at, featuring a high-mounted small circular headlight, short flyscreen and bodywork that, as mentioned above, looks ready to be put into production.

We can say that with confidence, for the Italian firm does not seem to bother hiding details of its upcoming products of late. The firm just has to give the panels a lick of paint and they would be good to go.

Moreover, featuring a sculpted tank, the motorcycle has a single-piece seat, all-LED lighting, and wire-spoked wheels as well.

Since it is an off-road-oriented motorcycle, Aprilia has given it long-travel forks upfront, while the rear gets a monoshock. There are twin discs at the front and a single rotor at the back, all sporting Brembo brake calipers.

There are a couple of things that will be changed when the bike is put on sale and they are the yellow bars that shroud the engine and the ugly exhaust can.

Although the motorcycle will share its heart with the RS 660, the motor will get a different tune, one that focuses on delivering useable torque than outright power. So, do not expect 100 HP from the twin-cylinder unit.

One thing the manufacturer did well with its latest middleweight bikes is provide them with top-spec electronics and the Aprilia Tuareg 660 is expected to be no different and come with riding modes, cornering ABS, slide and wheelie control, among other features.

Do not worry, the exhaust canister will not look like this on the production bike
The firm is doing well to expand its 660cc platform
