Audi Q7 Facelift Local Assembly Commences In India

Audi India commences local assembly of the updated Q7

The Audi Q7 facelift is finally being introduced in India in January 2022

Audi India is set to launch the Q7 facelift in the country after discontinuing the pre-facelift model in 2020 before the implementation of BS6 norms. Local assembly of the updated SUV has commenced at the SAVWIPL Plant in Aurangabad.

The pre-facelift Q7 was launched in India in 2016 with a starting price of Rs. 72 lakhs (ex-showroom). It was only available with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine at the time of the launch. In 2017, Audi updated it with a 2.0-litre turbo petrol that came with a starting price of Rs. 67.76 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The facelifted SUV will hit the showrooms in January 2022 in India. It will come with a new grille design, new bumpers and a revised set of headlamps. The side profile is updated with new alloy wheel design while the rear also gets mild tweaks including new tail lights and bumper.

The interior gets a new dashboard with a 12.3-inch all-digital instrument cluster, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 8.6-inch display for the centre console controls. It will get a ton of new features compared to the previous model.

This time around there is no diesel engine on offer, it will be a petrol-only SUV. It is expected to come with a 3.0-litre turbo V6 petrol engine producing 340 HP and 500 Nm torque. It’ll come with an 8-speed automatic transmission and of course the Quattro all-wheel drive system.

Another engine option could be the 2.0-litre turbo petrol motor good for 252 HP and 370 Nm torque.

The new Audi Q7 is expected to be priced around Rs. 1 crore (ex-showroom). It will compete with the likes of Mercedes GLE, BMW X5 and Volvo XC90.
