Audi Q9 Spotted, BMW X7 & Mercedes GLS Rival

Audi Q9 spotted testing for the first time

Audi Q9 prototype has been spotted testing overseas with heavy camouflage. The flagship SUV from the German luxury carmaker is expected to compete with the BMW X7 and the Mercedes-Benz GLS.

In terms of styling, it will follow the new design direction of Audi, which gets a huge front grille dominating the face of the SUV. Gets sleek DRLs and split headlight setup. The bonnet looks long and upright for the imposing stance. The front bumper looks sporty and has a huge grille.

On the side profile, the styling looks simple but the car has a huge footprint. It gets flush-type door handles for the premium looks and better aerodynamics. There is a strong shoulder line while the lower-half of the body seems to get some cladding for the rugged looks. The alloy wheels on this prototype look rather simple.

The tail lights of this test mule have dummy units. We believe the final production version will get fancy digital lights with dynamic sequence just like the new generation Audis. The rear profile looks sleek with a sharp roof-mounted spoiler and a not so busy rear bumper.

The interior is expected to get premium leather upholstery along with huge screens for the digital instrument cluster as well as the infotainment system. Considering the new trend of passenger-side screen, we won’t be surprised if it gets a third screen on the dashboard.

The rear seats are likely to get comfort oriented ergonomics with a focus on legroom and headroom for rear passengers. We believe Audi will offer third row of seats to compete with the rivals.

Audi is expected to introduce multiple 6-cylinder petrol and diesel engine options with mild hybrid tech. They might also come up with a powerful 8-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Other powertrains options are likely to include strong hybrid and pure electric variants.

We should expect the new Audi Q9 to make its world debut in 2025 and India launch soon after its international market launch.
