Avera Electric Vehicles is a homegrown all-electric two-wheeler startup and has launched an e-scooter named the Retrosa. The scooter was launched in February this year and is priced at Rs. 1.08 lakhs (ex-showroom, Andhra Pradesh). The Retrosa is only available in Andhra Pradesh currently via the company’s online portal.

The scooter is powered by a 3000W BLDC (Brushless DC Motor) that is connected to a lithium-ion battery, which gets a 5 year, unlimited km warranty. The scooter gets a claimed range of 120-140 km and has a top speed of about 90 km/hr. The battery pack takes 3-4 hours to get fully charged. The Retrosa is locally manufactured and qualifies for the FAME-II subsidy of Rs. 25,000/-.

The e-scooter also comes with a digital instrument console, LED lights, a side stand sensor and a battery monitoring system. The Retrosa comes with features like park assist and two riding modes, Economy and Sport+. It also gets additional storage upfront and body coloured mirrors.

Avera has underpinned the Retrosa by an aluminium frame and has equipped it with disc brakes on both ends. The suspension duties of the e-scooter are handled by telescopic front fork and a twin shock unit at the rear. The bike also weighs just 88 kg, making it a very nimble and agile scooter. The Avera Retrosa competes with the likes of the Ather 450 and the Okinawa i-Praise electric scooters.
