Bajaj Hikes Price Of Pulsar NS 160 & Dominar 400 Again!

Bajaj Dominar 400 Price
The Dominar 400 remains a superb option for the price even after the hikes

Following the hike trend, Bajaj has hiked the prices of the Pulsar NS 160 and the Dominar 400 again. Both motorcycles have already received many price hikes in 2020, and it seems that Bajaj doesn’t plan on stopping.

The Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 is one of the most capable 150cc segment bikes in the market today, as it offers good features and performance at a good price. But with repetitive hikes, it’s now the third costliest bike in the class after the Suzuki Gixxer and the Honda X-Blade.

The latest price hike makes the bike dearer by about Rs. 1500/-. While it doesn’t seem much, if you take into account all the hikes that the BS6 NS 160 has received and compare it to the BS4 prices, it becomes significant.

Overall, the total price hike including the switch from BS4 to BS6 rounds up the number to about Rs. 15,000/-. This is about 15% of the cost of the bike itself, which is a pretty big number.

Moving on to Bajaj’s flagship bike, the Dominar 400 has also become dearer by Rs. 1500/-. This is the second hike for the Dominar in consecutive months. This rounds up the total price hike of the Dominar to about Rs. 8000/-.

This has taken the price of the Dominar 400 dangerously close to the Rs. 2 lakh mark. What started out as a superb value-for-money offering is now knocking on the doors of the ‘premium’ motorcycle lineup, which isn’t usually synonymous to Bajaj.

However, even with the hikes, both the Bajaj Pulsar NS 160 and the Dominar 400 remain good value thanks to their unmatched performance and features for their respective price tags. The effective prices of the NS 160 and the Dominar 400 stand at Rs. 1,08,589/- (ex-showroom Delhi) and Rs. 1,97,758/- (ex-showroom pan-India).

Lastly, there has been no explanation or update from Bajaj Auto about this hike, as all they did was change the prices on their website. While we understand the pandemic has made life harder, we think the repetitive hikes will affect the sales negatively, especially in the festive season.
