Bajaj Pulsar 200 To Use KTM Engine

The launch of the orange clad naked bike from the Austrian bike manufacturer KTM has been the most anticipated launches in the upcoming year 2012. The KTM Duke 200, designed and developed jointly by Bajaj and KTM and to be assembled at the Bajaj’s assembly plant near Pune has been receiving lot of attention from the critics and customers are having lot of expectations also. Come January 2012, and the wraps will be taken off this exquisite piece of motorcycle. However, brewing in the R&D centre of Bajaj is another offering that is alleged to take the entire Indian motorcycling scenario by storm. Yes, you guessed it right! I am talking about the upcoming new range of Pulsar series which as per the company sources, is going to be radically different from the existing range of Pulsars.

According to various sources, Bajaj has taken lot of inspiration from their counterpart, KTM in the design and development of the new generation Pulsars. The new Pulsar is going to feature an all new chassis and design language, expected to be in the lines of the Duke which however, is just a speculation. The new Pulsar range will be shortly revealed after the 2012 Auto Expo and it is expected that the first bike to roll out will be the Pulsar 200 or the 220. The new Pulsar will be sharing some components with the Duke 200 which includes some engine components as well like the bottom of the engine. However, to keep costs low and to position it below the KTM bikes, the engine is going to be an oil cooled 4 valve unit. Bajaj is expected to carry over the DTS-i and Exhaus-tec technologies to the new Pulsar as well to improve the fuel efficiency. Tell us your views on the new Pulsar.
