The fastest Pulsar yet from Bajaj has opened to positive reviews and gained an overwhelming response from the masses. The bike isn’t available pan India yet.

The RS 200 boasts of a top speed of 141 km/hr, the highest for any Pulsar till date

Bajaj Auto launched its newest flagship offering the Pulsar RS 200 last month and the full faired offering has gained an overwhelming response ever since its arrival at the showrooms. The automaker revealed that the RS 200 has registered 1500 bookings in the past days which is certainly commendable for the highly awaited offering. With prices starting at Rs. 1.18 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the non-ABS variant, the RS 200 comes with a completely new styling and boasts of several upgrades over its naked sibling, the 200 NS.

The Pulsar RS 200 draws its styling inspiration from the bigger Pulsar 400 SS that was showcased at last year’s Auto Expo and comes with twin projector headlamps, LED eyebrows, split seats, LED turn indicators and the exuberant clear lens LED tail light. In terms of power, the RS 200 uses the same 199.5cc single-cylinder engine that has been upgraded with fuel injection and produces 24.5 PS of power at 9750 RPM and 18.6 Nm of torque at 8000 RPM, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with a power-to-weight ratio of 148.5 BHP per tonne.

The Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 is based on the same perimeter frame as the 200 NS, but is 20 kgs heavier than the latter, weighing 165 kgs. The RS 200 also gets a 300 mm disc at the front for effective stopping power which is the also the biggest offered in the segment. The uprated power along with a slew of other changes has definitely made the Pulsar RS 200 one of the best performance bikes to come out of Bajaj that is not only capable for the road but is equally friendly on the track as well. We test rode the bike at the automaker’s test track in Chakan, so make sure to check out our impressions about the Race Sport Pulsar HERE.
