Benelli Unveils C250 & C150 Small Capacity Bikes

Its raining compact motorcycles and its now Benelli’s turn to unveil beginner class performance bikes. Benelli is one of the old motorcycles manufacturers in the world. The Italian company is now owned by Group Qianjiang, a Chinese corporation. Benelli makes some extremely high performance machines but has now unveiled 250cc and 150cc motorcycles. The 250cc motorcycle is called the Benelli Uno C250, while the 150cc bike is called C150. Both these motorcycles are targeted to new motorcyclists and will go on sale next year.

The Benelli Uno C250 is powered by a 250cc, water-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 24.5 HP of power at 9000 RPM and 21 Nm of torque at 7000 RPM. This semi-faired machine doesn’t weigh much and will thus offer good performance and economy. The Uno C250 features upside down forks and monoshock suspension. However details about the C150 haven’t been revealed yet but it is expected to offer class leading performance in its segment.

Benelli doesn’t have any immediate plans to enter the Indian market. However the company does state that the Uno C250 and C150 are bikes made for the Asian market. With India among the biggest motorcycle markets in the world, we really wonder why Benelli would want to miss a golden opportunity by not launching these small capacity performance machines in the sub-continent. With heavy localization, Benelli could give Bajaj and KTM a run for their money.
