Bentley Torcal Electric SUV Confirmed, Global Debut On September 23

Bentley has announced that its first production electric vehicle will be named Torcal. The luxury electric SUV is scheduled to make its global debut on September 23, 2026, and will become the fourth model line in the company’s portfolio alongside the Bentayga, Continental and Flying Spur.

The name Torcal is inspired by the El Torcal de Antequera limestone rock formations in southern Spain. Bentley describes the upcoming model as a “Luxury Urban SUV” and says it has been developed to expand the brand’s electric vehicle lineup.

The Torcal is expected to be based on Volkswagen Group’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which also underpins the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric and Audi A6 e-tron. Bentley has confirmed that the SUV will measure less than five metres in length, suggesting it could be positioned below the Bentayga in the brand’s range.

The company has also indicated that the Torcal will feature fast-charging capability, claiming it will be able to recover up to 160 km of driving range in around seven minutes under suitable charging conditions.

Although Bentley has not revealed the complete design, teaser images suggest the SUV will feature slim LED lighting elements at the front and rear, a gently sloping rear windscreen and a roof-mounted spoiler. Test vehicles spotted overseas also hint at an enclosed front grille, illuminated detailing and styling cues shared with the latest Continental and Flying Spur.

Spy photographs of the interior indicate that the Torcal could receive a curved portrait-oriented infotainment display along with switchgear similar to that seen in newer Audi models. However, the final production specification has not yet been confirmed.

Technical specifications remain under wraps, but the SUV is expected to use a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. Reports suggest it could share the 113 kWh battery pack available in the upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric, although Bentley has yet to confirm battery capacity or performance figures.

More information about the Torcal is expected to be revealed closer to its global debut later this year.
