No investment for batteries – pay per swap for battery usage

The asking price of the Bounce Infinity E1 with a battery and charger is Rs. 68,999/-

Home-grown smart mobility solution firm Bounce has launched the Infinity E1 electric scooter at a starting price of Rs. 45,099/- (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The above-mentioned price tag is for the scooter with ‘Battery-as-a-Service’ feature, wherein the scooter is offered without the battery and users will have to access the brand’s battery swapping network and pay per battery swap.

Bounce will also sell the Infinity E1 with a removable battery and charger and this variant costs more at Rs. 68,999/- (ex-showroom, Delhi). The refundable booking amount for the scooter has been set at Rs. 499/-.

It is equipped with lots of features

Available in colour options such as Comed Grey, Desat Silver, Pearl White, Sparkle Black and Sporty Red, the electric scooter has an unpretentious design.

Featuring full-LED lights, the Infinity E1 has a digital instrument cluster, 12-inch alloy wheels, 12 litres of under-seat storage, and tonnes of features such as –

The swappable battery can be charged in 4 hours at home

Power comes from a 1.5 kW (2 BHP) BLDC motor that delivers 85 Nm of torque. The scooter can hit a top speed of 65 km/hr and also comes with 2 ride modes – ‘Eco’ and ‘Power’.

A 48 V, 2 kWh Lithium-ion battery provides juice to the electric motor. This portable battery offers a range of 85 km per charge and takes 4 hours to be completely recharged from nil at home.

Bounce claims it has been setting up a wide battery-swapping network through prominent partnerships, which will serve both its customers and its ride-sharing business.

The scooter weighs 94 kg, has a 780 mm tall seat and 155 mm of ground clearance

Built on a tubular frame, the electric scooter features telescopic front suspension and twin shock rear absorbers. Stopping power comes from disc brakes at each end, with CBS, that form the Electronic braking system (EBS) and braking also generates energy which recharges the battery.

Customers deliveries of the Infinity E1 will being in March 2022 and the scooter will come equipped with a warranty of 3 years or up to 50,000 km.

The company aims to build the world’s largest and densest battery swapping platform

Bounce, by acquiring a 100 per cent stake in 22Motors in a deal valued at about $7 million (Rs. 52.49 crores) in 2021, has a manufacturing facility at Bhiwadi in Rajasthan that can produce 1.80 lakh scooters a year.

The company aims to set up another plant in southern India and has set aside $100 million (Rs. 750 crores) to be invested in its business over the next 12 months.
