In a bid to keep the products updated and fresh, General Motors India are rolling out refreshed and revised variants of their current lineup. The American automaker is about to launch the facelifted Chevrolet Cruze which gets new features and you can read our review HERE. They have also introduced the Chevrolet Beat hatchback today with mild updates and new colour option for the year 2016.

The 2016 Chevrolet Beat has been launched with a price range between Rs. 4.28 lakhs to Rs. 5.55 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). It comes with a much needed addition of remote keyless entry with foldable key fob. The LT variant now comes with driver side airbag as standard while the range topping LT(O) variant has been renamed as LTZ. The LTZ trim gets dual front airbags with ABS and EBD as standard. On the inside, the lower trims get silver highlights just like the higher end variants that adds some appeal to the cabin.

On the exterior front, the updated Chevrolet Beat gets body coloured door handles on the lower variants. General Motors now adds two new colour options to the palette which includes Pull Me over Red and Satin Steel Grey. Apart from these mild changes, there are no other additions to the hatchback. The Beat continues to look distinctive in its class with funky styling cues that appeals to the youth. However, the new generation Beat has been revealed internationally that looks much more appealing and desirable, which will be launched in India in 2017.

The Chevrolet Beat gets powered by both diesel and petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre 3-cylinder diesel engine produces 57.1 PS of power at 4000 RPM and 142.5 NM of peak torque at 1750 RPM, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The Beat diesel returns a healthy 25.44 km/l of claimed fuel efficiency. The petrol powered Beat gets a 1.2-litre 4-cylinder engine good for 77.9 PS at 6200 RPM and 106.5 NM of max torque at 4400 RPM, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This engine returns an ARAI claimed mileage of 18.6 km/l.
