Chevrolet Cruze Facelift With MyLink System Launch In October [Scoop]

2015 Chevrolet Cruze Facelift

The Cruze sedan will be the first Chevrolet in the country to get the MyLink infotainment system that enhances connectivity options for the occupants.

The changes are expected to be minimal & are likely to be restricted to the front

The Chevrolet Cruze is largely attributed to being a diesel rocket and has aged rather gracefully over the years. While the segment may not be as exciting as before, it still continues to do decent numbers and General Motors is making a new attempt to keep its D-segment sedan relevant against new competition. As per our well placed sources, the American auto giant is planning to introduce the Cruze facelift later this year that will get a revised front fascia and will be updated with the new MyLink Infotainment system.

The MyLink infotainment system offers a host of connectivity options and an easy-to-use interface. The US spec Chevrolet Cruze gets a 7-inch touchscreen unit that provides access to everything from phone connectivity, radio, audio system, navigation and much more. You can pair up your smartphone, stream audio via Bluetooth, use internet radio among other bits. You also get voice recognition for hands free calling and text messaging alerts; while the US spec model comes with Siri Eyes Free for iPhone users that makes for hands free interaction. It needs to be seen if certain features are trimmed for the Indian version.

In addition to the inclusion of the MyLink system, the Chevrolet Cruze facelift will sport a mild upgrade to the front fascia that is most likely be in line with the international facelift launched earlier this year. This facelift though should not be confused with the new generation Cruze that made its US debut this June. The next generation model is likely to go on sale in India sometime in 2017. Meanwhile the update will serve as a stop-gap measure in its place.

The Cruze will be the first Chevrolet offering in the country to come with the MyLink infotainment unit and will be seen in a host of offerings in the future. It needs to be seen though if GM introduces the system on the upcoming Chevrolet TrailBlazer as well that is scheduled for launch in October this year. GM India could introduce the updated Cruze alongside the new TrailBlazer or silently bring it in the market before.
