Datsun GO NXT Launched, Priced At Rs. 4.09 Lakhs

The Datsun GO NXT is a feature laden version of the T variant and gets additional equipment for a premium appeal. No changes are made to the mechanicals.

The new set of features is an attempt to improve the VFM quotient on the Datsun GO

Adding some spice to the otherwise dull selling Datsun GO, Nissan India has introduced a new and upgraded version of its entry-level hatchback called the ‘GO NXT’ in the country, priced at Rs. 4.09 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The GO NXT gets additional features over the ‘T’ variant (that is priced at a marginal premium in comparison) and includes reverse parking sensors, remote security lock and a rear parcel tray. The exterior gets new chrome finished body molds to avoid scratches while the interior gets new piano black touches for a premium appeal.

The additional set of equipment costs Rs. 20,000/- but is being offered for a premium of just Rs. 5,000/- on the new Datsun GO NXT and the vehicle also has features like front power windows, mobile docking station, bottle holders, etc. on the top variant. That said, you also get features like a digital tachometer, MID display with fuel economy, DTE, trip meter, gearshift indicator; follow-me-home headlamps, remote tailgate opener and fuel lid opener, speed sensitive wipers and much more.

In terms of power, the Datsun GO NXT uses the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine (detuned version of the Micra) that belts out 68 PS of power at 5000 RPM and 104 Nm of torque at 4000 RPM, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The GO claims an ARAI certified fuel efficiency figure of 20.6 km/l. Incidentally, Datsun’s website does not show the recently launched ‘T (O)’ variant of the GO anymore that introduced a driver side airbag on the small car priced at a Rs. 15,000/- premium over the top-end T trim. The T (O) variant though is still available on the GO+ MPV. Only 1000 units of the GO NXT will be made available.

Most of these features were already available on the GO, but as accessories
