Ducati Panigale V2 Launched, Priced At Rs. 16.99 Lakhs

The overall design is similar to the V4, but the V2 looks slimmer in the lower end

After almost 1.5 months from commencing the booking procedure, Ducati has finally launched the Panigale V2 in India. The Panigale V2 can be yours for ‘just’ Rs. 16.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). This is also the first BS6 offering by Ducati in India.

The V2 serves as an ‘affordable’ entry-level Panigale. It is specifically for enthusiasts who don’t want the gut-wrenching power of the Ducati Panigale V4 but still want its riding dynamics and looks.

This role was previously fulfilled by the Ducati Panigale 959 which the V2 replaces globally. However, Ducati says that the V2 is an all-new motorcycle.

However, the V2 clearly gets its design cues from its elder sibling. It looks radical and will appeal anyone who adores the Panigale V4. It will be available in two liveries- Ducati Red and Star White Silk.

Feature-wise, the Ducati Panigale V2 is rich. It comes with Showa BPF forks, Sachs steering damper and rear monoshock, Brembo M4 callipers, 4.3-inch TFT dash with 3 riding modes, TC, wheelie control, and cornering ABS. It also gets the single-sided aluminium swingarm as well. Phew, that’s a long list!

On the performance front, the 955cc twin-cylinder engine of the V2 makes 155 BHP at 10,750 RPM and 104 Nm of torque at 9000 RPM while weighing 176 kgs.

The performance is a tad low, though, considering it will actually go against the Kawasaki ZX10R in India at this price which makes around 200 PS.

Nevertheless, Ducati motorcycles are always special in their own ways and Ducati is confident that the bike will do great here considering the initial response they received during bookings.

Test rides will also start as soon as the bikes start reaching dealerships. If you had your eye on the Ducati Panigale V2, it’s finally time to get it home!
