2016 Ducati Diavel Test Ride Review

Ducati India have imported the XDiavel, XDiavelS and HyperMotard 939 to India and a festive season launch for the bikes is in the offing.

The XDiavel cousins are every bit sinister with the visuals and mechanicals

The XDiavel and XDiavel S are high performance cruisers which receive a 1262cc L-Twin, dual-spark, liquid-cooled engine that serves out 154 BHP and 128.9 Nm of torque. The 6-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch takes care of the transmission. Both the cruisers get a full Ride-By-Wire system to offer various driving modes to the rider.

The Diavel brothers get Ducati Safety Pack (Bosch cornering ABS + DTC), DPL (Ducati Power Launch), cruise control, hands-free and backlit handlebar switches as standard. The XDiavel S gets full LED lighting with DRLs, a Bluetooth module, infotainment system and machined finish on engine belt cover, mirrors and alloy wheels.

Mechanically, the XDiavel gets Brembo M4-32 callipers at the front and the S gets Brembo M-50 callipers. The import data states the price of the XDiavel at Rs. 9,46,258/- and the XDiavel S at Rs. 11,03,781/-. The pricing of the beasts are best taken with a pinch though.

Then comes the Ducati HyperMotard 939 which gets a 937cc Testastretta 11°, L-Twin, liquid-cooled engine that develops 111.4 BHP and 97.9 Nm of torque. This too gets a Ride-By-Wire system and a 6-speed gearbox. The features column offers riding and power modes, Ducati Safety Pack, anti-theft system, heated grips and satellite navigation.
