Fiat will offer the Avventura crossover in 6 body colours

Fiat India is all set to launch its third major product the Avventura in the second week of October that will be available in six body colours and five variants. The paint shades are being carried over from the recently launched Punto Evo and include Bronzo tan (pictured), Exotica red, Minimal grey, Hip-Hop black and Vocal white. Based on the Punto hatchback, the crossover will be available in two petrol and three diesel variants and gets a body kit with several other changes to justify the rugged look.

Aesthetically the Avventura looks quite similar to the Punto Evo, but gets heavy black body cladding on the sides, new front and rear bumpers and 16-inch alloy wheels with a new design, standard across all variants. The Avventura also sports a cleverly bumper mounted external alloy spare wheel at the back. The crossover has a higher ground clearance than the Punto at 205 mm (also more than the Ford EcoSport but same as the Renault Duster), while the suspension has also been tuned for a stiffer setup to handle rough terrains easily. On the inside, there is the inclusion of new fabric upholstered seats, electric compass and tilt read gauges (on top variants) and is the only car available by miles to have this feature available.

The powertrain is being carried over from the Punto including the 1.4-litre petrol motor that produces 90 HP of power and 115 Nm of torque, and will be available in the base Active and mid-range Dynamic variants. The 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine on the other hand produces 90 HP of power and 209 Nm of torque and will be available in Active, Dynamic as well as the top-end Emotion variants. All the variants get a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Competing in the newly found crossover space, the Avventura will be rivalling the Volkswagen Cross Polo, Toyota Etios Cross and even the Ford EcoSport in the segment.
