Fiat disappointed Indian enthusiasts as no new models were launched at the 2016 Auto Expo other than the Punto Pure. The Italian automaker unveiled the Urban Cross, a crossover based on the Avventura which is itself a crossover based on the Punto and the new car will be launched later this year with promotions already started.

Fiat’s facebook page recently posted that the Urban Cross will be powered by a 1.4-litre, T-Jet petrol engine producing 138 BHP and 210 Nm of torque and will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox. This engine also powers the Avventura Abarth and the new crossover will only be offered in Abarth avatar.

Coming to the dimensions, the Fiat Urban Cross does not have too many changes compared to the Avventura while it measures 3999 mm in length, 1700 mm in width and 1500 mm in height. The interior gets a dual-tone treatment with more features and a touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, Navigation, etc.

Visually the Fiat Urban Cross has a very impressive design that will turn heads while on tarmac and it will be equally stellar after the road ends with its eye catchy design. The front fascia gets a new grille that seems to be borrowed from the Tipo and the front bumper gets a new design with new fog laps while the hood sports tough character lines.

The Fiat Urban Cross gets new silver coloured cladding all around while silver rails are mounted on the roof with LED lights on the front end. The rear misses the tailgate mounted spare wheel found on the Avventura and the 17-inch alloy wheels get a new design.
