In lieu of the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo, various car manufacturers are gearing up to display a variety of products to the masses. Ford will be showcasing its current range of products including the Endeavour but it seems that the company will also showcase some products from overseas markets. The American automaker has imported the Mondeo EcoBoost and the Kuga diesel to India for R&D purposes so there is a high likelihood that these will be showcased at the Expo too.

The Ford Mondeo is a proper D-segment sedan that was first launched in India more than a decade back. The vehicle turned out to be a dud at that time since the market wasn’t able to accept the idea of such an expensive vehicle from a relatively unknown manufacturer in India back then. The new Mondeo which is on sale in markets like Australia looks extremely stylish and is packed with a lot of features apart from some powerful engines.

Ford has imported the Mondeo that comes with a 2.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine. This turbocharged engine churns out 200-237 HP of power and comes mated to a 6-speed PowerShift transmission. The engine also produces a fuel economy of 11.76-12.19 km/l. Ford claims that the Mondeo comes with features that are not found in its rival, the Toyota Camry. The Mondeo has been imported at a price of approximately Rs. 11 lakhs.

The Ford Kuga is an SUV that is slotted below the Everest (Endeavour) in overseas markets. The vehicle is offered with a lot of engines like 1.5-litre petrol, 2.0-litre EcoBoost and 2.0-litre TDCI. The SUV also comes with an AWD system. Ford has imported the Kuga with the 2.0-litre TDCI diesel engine that is known to produce 177 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque. The Kuga also gets the same 6-speed PoweShift automatic transmission. The vehicle has been imported at a price of Rs. 16 lakhs but there doesn’t seem to be a possibility of Ford launching it here in the near future.
