2015 Ford Mustang GT Front

One unit of the Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback has been imported to India from the United States for testing purposes prior to its launch in our country.

The Ford Mustang is a thrill to drive and will sell in decent numbers

One of America’s most iconic muscle cars of all time, the sixth generation 2015 Ford Mustang is going to be launched in India this year. This news has been further confirmed as one unit of the Ford Mustang has been imported to India from the United States of America. The model imported is a GT Premium Fastback, which is the seventh highest variant of the eight total models retailed in the US. But this variant is the top-end trim of all the non-convertible versions. The sportscar has been imported for testing purposes and will return back to its homeland once the same process is complete.

The sixth generation Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback packs a stellar 5.0-litre Ti-VCT V8 gasoline engine which churns out a massive 420 BHP of power and 528 Nm of torque. It is available with a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission that features paddle shifters on the steering wheel that enable you to override automatic operation. This gives the driver an added level of enjoyment and fun-to-drive performance feel of a manual car which will simply be a treat for enthusiasts. While the Mustang comes with the usual set of features including eight airbags, independent front and rear suspension, a rear parking camera, etc., the GT Premium Fastback also gets a voice activated navigation system and blind-spot information system (BLIS) with cross-traffic alert as optional features.

The interiors are also a step above the previous Mustang and also feature many optional extras. When launched in India, the pony car will be priced upwards of Rs. 50 lakhs as it will be brought in as a CBU. Only time will tell whether the Ford Mustang will have a success story in our country or not.
