Harley-Davidson Street 750 Recalled For Faulty Brake Calipers

2016 Dark Custom Harley Street 750

Harley-Davidson has been contacting owners of the Street 750 manufactured post-2016 for a checkup and replacing the faulty brake calipers for no charge.

Street 750 recalled due to faulty brake calipers

The Milwaukee-based manufacturer has cited faulty brake calipers as the reason behind the silent recall. The Street 750 is known to be the arch of the Indian Harley fanbase, but the fault in the brake calipers has drawn a lot of backlash for the motorcycle company.

The owners of the Harley-Davidson Street 750 had been complaining about the calipers wearing off too soon, which resulted in a couple of crashes. The issue did not seem big then, but notwithstanding, Harley decided not to take any chances and issued a recall. The company said that the brakes could drag due to brake caliper piston bores that are susceptible to corrode quickly. This would affect the stability of the bike, resulting in an accident.

The officials from Harley-Davidson India have not given the exact number of Street 750s affected by the recall. However, they said that a check-up process is going on and any issues with the brake calipers are found, they will be replaced for no charge.

This isn’t the first time Harley-Davidson has recalled the Street 750. In 2015, the manufacturer recalled the cruiser for a faulty seal in the fuel pump.
