Harley-Davidson To Launch Refreshed X440 In September, Will Feature Performance Upgrades

Hero has revealed new plans for Harley-Davidson’s 440cc line-up in its latest investor call. By September this year, Hero plans to launch a new motorcycle under the Harley brand. This will be the third motorcycle from the Hero-Harley partnership.

The collaboration’s first bike was the Harley-Davidson X440, followed by the Hero Mavrick 440. Unfortunately, the Mavrick 440 was discontinued recently due to low sales despite being a good product. This decision has refocused the brand on Harley in this segment.

Hero MotoCorp believes that Harley-Davidson’s strong brand recall performs well across metros, Tier-two, and Tier-three cities. The team had a scrambler version of the Mavrick 440 ready, but has currently shelved it. Hero expects the new bike to leverage Harley’s aspirational image.

Outlook

Although details about the upcoming motorcycle remain limited, it will likely feature performance upgrades suited for highway cruising. Hero is now exploring higher-priced options to boost profitability and make the X440 a more appealing option in the market.
