Karizma XMR base variant dropped, entry price rises to Rs. 2 lakhs

Hero MotoCorp has quietly removed the Base variant of the Karizma XMR from its official website, streamlining the motorcycle’s variant line-up. The sporty 210cc bike is now only available in two trims, the Top and Combat variants, both of which come with upgraded hardware and features compared to the discontinued Base version.

The Base variant, which featured a telescopic front fork and an LCD instrument console, was priced at Rs. 1.81 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). With its exit, the new starting price for the Karizma XMR range has increased by Rs. 19,000, with the entry-level Top variant now priced at Rs. 2 lakhs.

Hero recently refreshed the Karizma XMR with significant updates including a USD (upside-down) front fork and a TFT display. These enhancements, aimed at improving the motorcycle’s appeal and competitiveness, were initially rolled out with the Top variant. The TFT dash, which debuted earlier on the Xpulse 210, replaces the simpler LCD unit of the older variant.

The Combat variant, priced slightly higher at Rs. 2.02 lakhs, offers the same set of features as the Top trim but comes with a distinct grey and yellow livery inspired by the Xoom 110 Combat Edition.

Despite the updates, the core mechanical setup of the Karizma XMR remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 210cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 25 HP and 20.4 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

While the removal of the Base variant raises the entry price of the Karizma XMR, the bike now offers a more premium feature set as standard, potentially aligning it better with customer expectations in the competitive entry-level sportbike segment.
