Hero To Launch Splendor Pro Classic, Passion Pro TR In March 2014

Hero MotoCorp is all set to launch two new products in the Indian market by the end of this fiscal year. The two new products that will be launched will be the Splendor Pro Classic Cafe Racer and the Passion TR that were showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo that concluded earlier this month.

Called as the poor man’s Continental GT across online forums, the Splendor Pro Classic is based on the regular Spendor motorcycle but gets a completely new cafe racer body bolted on the older frame. The bike looks actually good for the price and will be an interesting product for the customers who appreciate the Cafe Racer lines. The Pro Classic will carry the powertrain from the regular Splendor and will be powered by an air-cooled, 4-stroke 97.2cc APDV engine capable of producing 7.7 BHP of power and 8.04 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed transmission. Expect the motorcycle to be offered with the standard gear available on regular Splendor variants.

The second motorcycle that will be launched will be the Passion Pro TR which is an off-road version of the regular Passion Pro motorcycle. The Passion Pro TR gets additional equipment in the form of on-off tyres, sturdier handlebars with cross brace, headlight grille, hand guards, high front fender and hugger front fender for added protection, bash plate and fuel tank pads to equip the bike for off-roading. The bike shares its powertrain with the Splendor and also offers the same output. However, the Passion Pro TR gets a 240 mm disc brake and telescopic shocks in the front while 5-step adjustable hydraulics shocks are used at the rear.

Both the bikes are expected to be offered at a premium than their regular counterparts. The Passion Pro TR makes practical sense for the rural and semi-urban markets where normal roads are no less than an off-road track and the additional equipment will actually help riders. The Spendor Pro Classic on the other hand is certainly bringing Cafe Racing at a budget and is actually the quintessential bike that the first time rider would want.
