Hero Mavrick 440 Spotted, Launch On 23rd January

Hero Mavrick name confirmed officially, teaser images revealed

In a recent announcement on its social media handles, Hero MotoCorp confirmed the launch date of its highly anticipated motorcycle, derived from the Harley-Davidson X440 platform, as the “Mavrick.”

The Indian two-wheeler maker has scheduled the launch for 23rd January. Recently, a spy shot of the Hero Mavrick test mule surfaced, offering a glimpse into the distinctive elements that set it apart from its Harley counterpart.

One of the noticeable changes is the exhaust muffler, adopting a more streamlined and rectangular design compared to the round configuration of the X440. Hero seems to have focused on a smaller, better-integrated muffler for the Mavrick, as revealed in the heavily camouflaged spy shots.

The Mavrick 440 showcases a sleeker tail-lamp design, adding a touch of modernity to the motorcycle’s rear end. The wheels are an entirely new design, featuring a twin-spoke pattern that deviates from the X440’s styling.

The test mule sports conventional stalk-mounted mirrors, suggesting that the bar-end units seen in earlier sightings might be offered as optional extras.

The heart of the Mavrick is expected to retain the 440cc air- and oil-cooled motor from the X440. While the output figures are anticipated to be in the same range as the Harley variant (27 HP and 38Nm), Hero might tweak the state of tune to impart a unique character to the motorcycle.

The spy shots indicate similarities in the main frame, twin rear shocks and braking hardware between the Mavrick and the X440. This suggests that Hero has maintained certain proven elements from the Harley platform while incorporating design changes to differentiate the Mavrick.
