Hero Passion+ Disc Variant Launched At Rs. 84,128/-

Hero MotoCorp has expanded the Passion+ range with the introduction of a new Disc variant, priced at Rs. 84,128 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The latest addition brings improved braking hardware and a few feature upgrades, while retaining the familiar mechanical package of the commuter motorcycle.

The biggest change on the new variant is the inclusion of a 240 mm front disc brake in place of the drum brake offered on the standard model. The update is expected to improve braking performance and gives the Passion+ an advantage over several rivals in the entry-level commuter segment that continue to rely on drum brakes.

Another notable upgrade is the introduction of a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Riders can pair their smartphones to access call and SMS notifications, while the display also provides information such as real-time fuel efficiency, service reminders and a low-fuel warning. Other convenience features include Hero’s side-stand engine cut-off function and a USB charging port integrated into the storage compartment near the fuel tank.

Powering the Passion+ Disc is the same 97.2cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled petrol engine that develops 8 HP at 8000 RPM and 8.05 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. The engine is paired with a 4-speed gearbox and continues to feature Hero’s i3S idle stop-start technology, aimed at improving fuel efficiency. Hero claims a certified mileage of 71 km/l.

The motorcycle is built around a tubular steel frame with telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. The Disc variant weighs 116 kg, which is 1 kg more than the Drum version.

Customers can choose from four colour options – red, blue, black and grey – all featuring refreshed graphics. The new Disc variant is priced Rs. 3800 higher than the Passion+ Drum and becomes the most expensive motorcycle in Hero’s 97.2cc commuter portfolio, which includes the HF, Splendor+ and Passion+ range. Along with the Splendor XTEC Disc, it is now one of the few Hero motorcycles in the 100cc commuter segment to offer a front disc brake.
