Honda Activa celebrates 35 million sales in India, marking 24 years of success
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) has announced that its popular Activa range has achieved a significant sales milestone of 35 million units in the country. This achievement highlights the scooter’s enduring popularity among Indian riders over the past 24 years.
Introduced in 2001, the Honda Activa has played a key role in shaping the automatic scooter segment in India. The company reached its first 10 million sales by 2015, doubled that figure to 20 million by 2018, and has now crossed 35 million units in 2025.
Currently, Honda’s Activa lineup comprises the Activa 110 and Activa 125. The Activa 110 is powered by a 109.51cc engine delivering 7.8 HP and 9.05 Nm of torque, while the Activa 125 features a 123.92cc motor producing 8.4 HP and 10.5 Nm. Both models offer contemporary features such as a TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, a smart key system and an engine start-stop function.
Although the Activa i has been discontinued, it played a part in reaching this cumulative sales figure. The Activa 110 is available in three variants, with prices ranging from Rs. 74,369 to Rs. 87,693. Meanwhile, the Activa 125 comes in two variants – the DLX priced at Rs. 88,339 and the H-Smart variant at Rs. 91,983 (all prices ex-showroom).
With this achievement, Honda reaffirms the Activa’s position as one of India’s most trusted and best-selling scooters, a name synonymous with reliability and practicality for millions of riders.
