The Honda CB Unicorn 160 comes with a new engine which promises on lot on paper. We plug in our VBOX to see how the numbers roll.

The Honda CB Unicorn 160 packs in quite the punch

Honda recently launched the CB Unicorn 160 in the Indian market and has commenced deliveries of the motorcycle across its ever expanding dealership network. Powered by a 163cc engine which outputs 14.5 HP of power and 14.6 Nm of torque, the CB Unicorn 160 promises a lot on paper. Does it deliver on the road? We plugged in our VBOX and did multiple runs and the Unicorn 160 shined bright, doing the 0-100 km/hr sprint in 16.15 seconds (0-60 km/hr in 4.82 seconds), that’s almost as fast as a TVS Apache 180 although the Honda can’t match the Indian machine’s top speed.

The top speed we achieved on the Honda CB Unicorn 160 was 122 km/hr on the speedometer, the VBOX reading being 114 km/hr. That’s still impressive considering Honda themselves claim a top whack of 106 km/hr on their latest offering. The CB Unicorn 160 sits between the regular Unicorn 150 and CB Trigger in Honda’s 150cc line-up, the CBR150R being the flagship motorcycle of this displacement category for the Japanese automaker. Competition to the Unicorn 160 comes in the form of the Suzuki Gixxer and Yamaha FZ Version 2.0.
