Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has initiated a voluntary recall for select units of the CB1000 Hornet SP in India. The campaign covers motorcycles produced between September 30, 2024 and August 22, 2025.
According to the company, the recall has been issued to address two technical concerns identified during internal evaluations. The first involves the routing of the fuel feed hose, which may need inspection to ensure it remains correctly positioned under certain conditions. The second relates to engine oil consumption, where variations could occur due to specific component characteristics, potentially requiring corrective measures.
HMSI stated that affected motorcycles will undergo inspection and if necessary, rectification at authorised BigWing Topline dealerships across the country. This may include adjusting the fuel hose routing and replacing select engine components. The company has clarified that all associated repairs will be carried out at no cost to customers, regardless of the motorcycle’s warranty status.
Customers with affected units will be contacted directly via phone, email or SMS by authorised dealerships. Additionally, owners can independently verify whether their motorcycle is part of the recall by entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the company’s official website. Honda has also advised customers to schedule appointments in advance to minimise waiting time at service centres.
The move is positioned as a preventive step aimed at ensuring consistent product performance and maintaining customer confidence.
