Honda is reportedly working on a scambler version of the H’ness CB350, its challenger to take on 350cc Royal Enfields.
While the existence of a derivative model was said to be on the cards from the beginning, it was said to be a cafe racer version.
However, this most recent rendering shows that a Honda H’ness CB350 scrambler version is also under development and rumours are that it will be introduced at the earliest.
The H’ness CB350 scrambler will retain the powertrain, tank, lighting elements, the cluster, among other elements, but will get spoke wheels, different tyres, a revised exhaust with heat shield, raised suspension, and engine underside protection.
It looks like Honda does not have to revise the core design of the bike and instead only change a few cycle parts to come up with the scrambler version of the H’ness CB350.
Expected to be launched in Japan next summer (between June and August), the model will likely be launched in India first, for the H’ness was developed primarily for our market.
As for the rumoured cafe version, it might be launched anytime between the end of this year and January second week in India, if reports are to be believed.
Looks like Honda has a clear-cut plan to capture a decent chunk of the retro-styled premium commuter bike market and in the end, it is the consumer who will win.
