Honda’s Creta Rivalling SUV Launch Scheduled For Mid-2023

2023 Honda CR V Unveiled

Honda Midsize SUV in the pipeline for 2023 launch

Honda is currently working on a midsize SUV that will compete with the Hyundai Creta segment and is scheduled to launch in India by mid-2023.

The Japanese carmaker will soon discontinue the fourth gen City, Jazz and WR-V from their Indian lineup. They will only have the Amaze and the new gen City in their lineup.

The third product in their portfolio will be an all-new midsize SUV. This is being developed for the Indian market and will get high localisation to keep the costs in check. It will be based on the Amaze platform.

The new SUV will measure 4.2-4.3 metres in length and is expected to be revealed by mid-2023. Sales of this SUV is expected to commence in the festive season.

We haven’t seen any prototypes yet on the road and we expect it to take design inspiration from the new generation WR-V. Honda should throw in a ton of new features to compete with the rivals.

Engine options are expected to be the same as the 5th gen City which comes with a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 1.5-litre strong hybrid petrol. There will be no diesel engine on offer.
