Honda Cars India has launched the ZR-V e:HEV in the Indian market at an introductory price of Rs. 47.99 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). Positioned as the brand’s flagship SUV, the ZR-V is being brought to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) imported from Japan, with customer deliveries commencing immediately.
The premium SUV expands Honda’s hybrid portfolio in India and is aimed at buyers looking for a feature-rich midsize SUV with strong hybrid technology. According to the company, the first two allocation batches for the Indian market have already been booked.
Powering the ZR-V is Honda’s 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine paired with a dual-motor e:HEV hybrid system and an e-CVT transmission. The combined output stands at 184 PS and 315 Nm of torque, while the claimed fuel efficiency is 22.8 km/l. Honda states the SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 7.9 seconds. The hybrid system automatically switches between EV, Hybrid and Engine Drive modes depending on driving conditions.
In terms of design, the ZR-V features a contemporary SUV profile with full-LED lighting and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, the cabin gets an all-black theme with leather upholstery, dual-zone climate control and a driver-oriented dashboard layout.
The feature list includes a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 10.2-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 12-speaker Bose audio system and wireless smartphone charging. Practicality is enhanced with multiple storage spaces, 60:40 split-folding rear seats and up to 1313 litres of luggage capacity when the second-row seats are folded.
Comfort-oriented equipment includes an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, a 4-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, regenerative braking paddle shifters, a hands-free powered tailgate with kick sensor, electronic parking brake and idle stop-start technology.
On the safety front, the ZR-V comes equipped with the Honda SENSING suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), including adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking, lane keeping assist and road departure mitigation. Other safety features include eight airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, hill descent control and Vehicle Stability Assist.
The Honda ZR-V e:HEV is available in four exterior colour options: Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl and Crystal Black Pearl.
Honda is offering the SUV with a standard three-year unlimited-kilometre warranty, three years of complimentary roadside assistance, optional extended warranty packages and dedicated warranty coverage for the hybrid system and lithium-ion battery.
