Husqvarna Norden 901 Breaks Cover

The bike has Dakar Rally style slimline ergonomics

The Husqvarna Norden 901 is an ADV designed to also do long-distance touring

Husqvarna has revealed the Norden 901 adventure motorcycle (ADV) as a complete long-distance travel companion equipped with the componentry to go off-road.

The Swedish-origin Austrian company does not make bad-looking motorcycles and the Norden 901 is surely not what one would call an eyesore.

Sporting a circular LED headlight with DRLs, fog lights, and LED tail lamp, the adventure motorcycle has a flyscreen, hand guards, circular mirrors and sleek bodywork that will make it look modern 10 years from now.

The motorcycle is fitted with a steering damper too

The motorcycle has an aluminium tapered handlebar, height adjustable 2-piece seat (854 mm), TFT screen (smartphone connectivity, music and navigation can be accessed via the optional Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app), and provisions to fit luggage.

Built on a chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frame to which a steel trellis subframe is attached, the Husqvarna Norden 901 ADV is powered by a 889cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin engine making 103 BHP at 8000 RPM and 100 Nm of torque at 6500 RPM.

The engine is teamed to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch and bi-directional quickshifter and the rider gets to play with 3 ride modes (Street, Rain and Off-road) plus an optional ‘Explorer’ mode (for off-roading) as well.

The bike has 252 mm of ground clearance and still sports engine protection

Featuring a 19-litre fuel tank, the ADV, says Husqvarna, can cover over 400 km on a single tank. To make long trips a bit easy on the rider (the motorcycle weighs 204 kg without fuel after all), cruise control is offered as standard.

Riding on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoked wheels fitted with off-road rubber, the Husqvarna Norden 901 ADV has adjustable WP Apex 43 mm inverted front forks (220 mm travel) and adjustable WP Apex rear shock (215 mm travel).

The braking system sourced from J.Juan comprises twin 320 mm front discs with 4-piston radial calipers and 260 mm rear disc with 2-piston floating caliper.

The claimed weight of the bike without fuel is 204 kg

In addition, the bike has cornering ABS system (with off-road mode) from Bosch, switchable lean angle sensitive traction control and anti-wheelie function.

As for accessories, the Norden 901 comes with loads of them, including items such as heated seats and handgrips, Akrapovic titanium slip-on silencer, suspension lowering kit, among others.
