Hyundai AX1 Micro SUV Spotted Again In Korea

Looks like it is a must to have an SUV-ish car in every segment now

Hyundai AX1 micro SUV has been spied once again in the manufacturer’s home country, albeit with a bit less camouflage.

The spy shots show that the car has front light setup like the Venue, with the LED DRL sitting at the top, while the headlights are situated lower down.

More styling cues look to have been taken from the Venue since the micro SUV has a flat bonnet and the overall silhouette looks to be a smaller version of the compact SUV.

We can also see pronounced squarish arches with plastic cladding, a decent glass area, roof rails, shark fin antenna and slightly raked rear section.

Being a vehicle of the SUV type, the Hyundai AX1 micro SUV spied car has a raised stance, good-looking alloy wheels and the rear door handles have been placed on the C-pillar, like on the Maruti Suzuki Swift.

Furthermore, expect Hyundai offer plenty of features like a touchscreen, connectivity tech, as is mostly the case with the carmaker’s products. Hopefully, it should do well in terms of safety.

Lower variants of the micro SUV could be powered by a 1.1-litre petrol motor, while top-spec trims could come powered by the brand’s 1.2-litre petrol motor or the 1.0-litre turbo petrol motor in a lower state of tune.

It is expected that Hyundai will offer customers the choice of choosing between a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT.

When it hits the market sometime in 2022, the Hyundai AX1 micro SUV will rival the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100 and the upcoming Tata HBX.
