Hyundai Creta Performance

Brochure of one of the most anticipated compact SUV, Creta has been leaked revealing all engine details, features offered on different variants and will be available in 7 colours.

The top-end SX(O) trim misses out on the automatic transmission

Expected to become the next hit in the compact SUV space, the Hyundai Creta has been a hot topic all over the internet and will be launching in the country on 21st July. Adding on to the discussions surrounding the already popular SUV, brochure pictures of the vehicle have just surfaced revealing all details and power figures of the engines on offer. Variant wise features that will be offered have also come to light and the Creta will be retailed in 6 trim variants – Base, S, S+, SX, SX+ and SX(O) with seven different colours.

The only petrol engine on offer is a 1.6-litre motor that produces 124 PS of power at 6300 RPM and 151 Nm of torque at 4200 RPM. This engine will be available in the Base, S and SX+ trims and will come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The two diesel engines offered includes a 1.4-litre unit that churns out 133 PS of power at 4000 RPM and 220 Nm of torque between 1900-2750 RPM and a larger 1.6-litre mill which also gives out the same 133 PS of power at 4000 RPM, but a higher torque figure of 260 Nm at the same 1900-2750 RPM band. The smaller engine will be available in the SX, SX+ and SX(O) trims and will be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the larger diesel engine will only come with the SX+ variant with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Judging by the features offered on the top-end SX(O) trim, the Hyundai Creta will be more equipped than many SUVs that lie in higher segments, which is a big plus. The vehicle will be available in seven different colours – Silver, Grey, Beige, White, Red, Blue and Black. Looking at the track record of Hyundai’s previous launches, the Creta is expected to become a major player in its segment and will definitely help the Korean car maker to gain a stronger foothold in the Indian car market.

The Creta will appeal to many C-segment sedan buyers as well if priced well
Interiors are well equipped in all the variants
The top variant also gets side and curtain airbags
Both diesel engines produce the same 133 PS of power
Four of the six variants get alloy wheels
There will be seven colours offered with the upcoming SUV
