The Hyundai Creta compact SUV which was supposed to be launched in September will now be launched on 21st July while its production will begin soon.

Looking at the carrier, we think Hyundai might offer it as an accessory

We all have been waiting for the launch of the Hyundai ix25-based SUV, the Creta. The vehicle was supposed to be launched in India during September, bang in the middle of the festive season. The latest news states that the SUV will be launched in India on 21 July, a full two months ahead of schedule. The Korean automaker will commence production of the Creta on 20 June itself. Hyundai feels that they will be able to generate more sales if they launch the car at the beginning of the festive season rather than waiting till September.

The Hyundai Grand i10 was launched during Onam and Ganesh Chaturthi and the hatchback turned out to be very successful. Company officials are optimistic that the Creta too will be very successful and a game changer in the market. The automaker is aiming to sell around 5000 units of the compact SUV every month and is eyeing for at least a 10% share in the SUV market in India. Hyundai also feels that approximately 10% of the vehicle’s sales will come from automatic variants. Our readers Shailender Singh, Sumair Malik and Soundara Pandiyan spotted these Creta test mules at the Noida Expressway and at Delhi.

The Hyundai Creta is going to be offered with the same petrol and diesel engines that also power the Verna. The vehicle will be loaded to the brim with features and tech. With an appropriate price tag, Hyundai has a sure shot chance of making the SUV a runaway success in the Indian market. We are expecting it to be priced between Rs. 8-12 lakhs and while it’ll compete directly with the Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster, the Creta will also give sleepless nights to the Ford EcoSport.
