With neck and neck competition in the mid-size SUV segment, automakers have been on a constant sprint for reaching the pinnacle. Hyundai has made its move and launched the Creta Sports Edition. A new member to the Creta line-up with added list of updates. The Hyundai Creta has been one of the hottest-selling cars in the Indian market. The Sports Edition gets cosmetic upgrades and added features as well. Let’s dive deep into what makes the Creta Sports Edition different from a regular Creta.

First and foremost, the Hyundai Creta Sports Edition is based on the SX variant. The new car is available only with a manual transmission. The engine options are 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel. The petrol variant will set you back by Rs. 12.78 lakhs and the diesel variant costs Rs. 14.13 lakhs (all prices ex-showroom). With all the bells and whistles, the Creta Sports Edition is upwards by Rs. 54,000 – 60,000/- compared to the SX variant.

The cosmetic upgrades include two new paint schemes. One is Phantom Black and the other is Polar White with a Phantom Black roof. The latter one being a dual-tone paint scheme costs Rs. 11,000/- more. Other exterior changes include smoked projector headlights, faux dual exhaust tips in chrome finish, dark chrome treated grille, silver roof rails and skid plates, black finished ORVMs and a rear spoiler.

That’s not all of it, the interior gets a list of upgrades as well. An all-black colour scheme for the interior, black fabric seats with ‘Creta’ embossed on them. The steering wheel is all wrapped in quality leather, contrast stitching for the seats, steering wheel, gear lever, boot are also added. Even the AC vents are treated with silver surrounds.

The electronics include an electric sunroof, automatic climate control and a height adjustable driver’s seat. Infotainment system consists a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Wireless smartphone charging, cruise control are also on the list.
