The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will be revealed at the 2015 IIFA Awards that will be held on 5th June in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The S-Cross will be revealed at the IIFA Awards with the launch expected in July

The Indian film industry and its global outreach is certainly one of the biggest platforms to promote your product. While actors and other media personalities are regular brand ambassadors for products, carmakers have also accomplished launching/unveiling products at prestigious (or not) Award functions that bring in the visibility. After Tata Motors partnered with IIFA last year to promote the Zest compact sedan, Maruti Suzuki has partnered with the award show this year and will be revealing the much-awaited S-Cross compact SUV at the event next month.

The IIFA awards are scheduled to be held on 5th June in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this year. Coming to Maruti’s latest offering, the S-Cross (could be called ‘Across’) will be rivalling the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Ford EcoSport and the likes in the segment. Powertrain options will include the 1.6-litre diesel engine while the 1.3-litre DDiS diesel motor will be on offer as well. The 1.4-litre K-Series petrol motor from the Ciaz is also said to be available on the new S-Cross. Transmission options will include a 5-speed and 6-speed manual.

The Maruti Suzuki S-Cross will come loaded with features including projector headlamps, LED DRLs, SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system, start-stop button, keyless entry and a lot more. The compact SUV will most likely be offered with All-Wheel Drive right from the start to take on the Renault Duster AWD. Expect prices to start between Rs.9-13 lakhs (ex-showroom) in the country and will be offered with around 7-8 variants across different engine options. With the India spec version getting subtle exterior changes over the European model, we will be eagerly watching the IIFA awards this year. More details can be expected closer to the actual launch, which is expected in July.
