UV sales on January 2022 dropped by 14 percent when compared with the year ago period. But, it was the Maruti Ertiga which once again took the top position.

The popular MPV from Maruti registered sales of 11,847 units, followed by the Eeco, also from Maruti, that found 10,528 new buyers in January.

Mahindra’s Bolero came third with 3506 unit sales. The MUV continues to impress despite its age and lack of features when compared to its rivals.

The Mahindra Bolero never fails to deliver

Moving on, Maruti sold 3085 units of its XL6 this past month, and Renault retailed 2722 units of its compact MPV, the Triber. One unit each of Toyota’s Innova was driven home by 2433 individuals in January 2022.

Kia’s premium MPV, the Carnival did well to register sales of 357 units, while the last place in the January 2022 UV sales chart was occupied by the Toyota Vellfire with 6 unit sales.

Datsun and Mahindra could not find any takers for the GO+ and Marazzo, respectively, last month. Thus, overall sales of the segment reduced to 34,484 in January 2022 as opposed to 40,280 during the same period in 2021.
