Top-selling Compact SUVs In July 2022

Hyundai Venue has posted an excellent 47 percent growth

July, 2022, compact SUV sales saw the rise of Hyundai Venue, Toyota Urban Cruiser continues to set the chart on fire

In July, 2022, compact SUV sales were nearly a mixed bag with some top-sellers registering YoY growth while the others left with de-growth. But, there were some interesting developments in the top of the chart.

Tata Nexon, again, became the country’s best selling compact SUV. In fact, it was also the country’s best selling SUV in general. Selling 14,214 units, it registered a YoY growth of 38 percent. The high sales are thanks to a long list of options for customers.

Surprisingly, Hyundai Venue has overtaken Tata Punch for the second spot this time. It has sold 12,000 units with a humongous growth of 47 percent. Punch closely followed it selling more than 11,000 units.

The once top-seller, Maruti Suzuki Brezza has been pushed to the fourth place and sales are no way close to its earlier performances. But, things are expected to get better in the coming months.

Toyota Urban Cruiser has seen terrific growth

At number 5, Kia Sonet has posted a de-growth of 6 percent. It was closely followed by Toyota Urban Cruiser which recorded a staggering growth of 175 percent selling 6724 units. Mahindra XUV300 came seventh nearly maintaining last year’s sales.

Mahindra Thar took the eighth spot selling 3616 units with a growth of 13 percent. Like all other Mahindra products, Thar too reels under high waiting periods. If Mahindra sorts that out, the SUV can post much better numbers.

The last 2 places were taken by Nissan Magnite and its cousin Renault Kiger. However, both have witnessed double-digit de-growth.
