The Kawasaki KXL 110 isn’t road legal

Kawasaki has silently introduced its cheapest motorcycle for the Indian market but the same isn’t road legal and is limited to track use, or in this case, off-road use. The Kawasaki KLX 110 has been priced at a whooping Rs. 2.8 lakhs and comes via the CBU route, it’s a small bike to be used by kids only. Power comes in via a 112cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, SOHC engine, paired to a 5-speed gearbox, the clutch is automatic to prevent stalling.

Underpinning the Kawasaki KLX 110 is a high tensile steel frame while suspension duties are taken care by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking system consists of front and rear drum units. This off-road motorcycle is imported from Thailand and since it’s officially launched here, one can expect trouble-free service and easy availability of spare parts. The bike is available only in one colour which is lime green.

With a length of 1557 mm, height of 955 mm and width of 650 mm, the Kawasaki KLX 110 is compact while the seat height is 680 mm, making it apt for kids. The ground clearance stands at 218 mm while the motorbike tips the scales at a mere 76 kgs (wet). The fuel tank capacity is 3.78 litres but one can expect it to deliver a mileage upwards of 80 km/l.

This motorcycle certainly packs in appeal for the young riders out there who want to learn and master the art of off-roading on two-wheels. With its long travel suspension and automatic clutch, the Kawasaki KLX 110 is the perfect tool for enthusiastic kid bikers. However, at a price of Rs. 2.8 lakhs, this motorcycle doesn’t come cheap and will thus be limited to the Richie Riches in our country.
