Kawasaki KLX230 Launched, Priced At Rs. 1.99 Lakh

Kawasaki KLX230 Launched At Rs. 1.99 Lakh, Will Compete Against The Hero Xpulse 210

Kawasaki has refreshed the KLX230 for 2026 with ABS and a dramatic price drop. The bike now costs Rs. 1.99 Lakh, down from Rs. 3.33 Lakh (ex-showroom). This Rs. 1.33 Lakh cut boosts its competitiveness against the Hero XPulse 210, priced from Rs. 1.75 Lakh (ex-showroom).

In addition to this, Kawasaki has also introduced a trail-focused version, known as the KLX230R S and priced at Rs. 1.94 Lakh (ex-showroom).

Design Changes

Kawasaki has introduced two new colours: Lime Green and Battle Grey. The compact, rugged design of the KLX230 is tailored for off-road terrain and is retained. The styling of the KLX230 includes a hexagonal headlamp, slim 7.6-litre fuel tank, and single-piece seat.

Suspension and Braking

Built on a high-tensile steel perimeter frame, the bike features 37 mm telescopic forks and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock. The bike uses a 265 mm front disc with twin-piston callipers and a 220 mm rear disc for braking. The updated suspension aims to enhance stability and rider control over uneven surfaces.

Engine

The KLX230 is powered by a 233cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 18.1 HP at 8000 RPM and 18.3 NM of torque at 6400 RPM. The engine pairs with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike, with a kerb weight of just 139 kg, promises agile handling for off-road adventures.

Kawasaki KLX230R S

Kawasaki has expanded its off-road lineup by launching the KLX230R S. This trail-focused machine is not road-legal, with weight-saving measures eliminating mirrors, headlights, turn indicators, and grab rails. Fitted with aggressive knobby tyres for improved traction on dirt, the KLX230R S is priced at Rs. 1.94 lakh (ex-showroom).

Outlook

Lower pricing, ABS, and lightweight performance strengthen the value proposition of the KLX230. Kawasaki targets riders who seek an affordable yet capable dual-purpose motorcycle. Its positioning against the Hero XPulse 210 now seems more competitive than ever.
