Kia updates Carens Clavis with new trims, features and wider ADAS availability
Kia has revised the Carens Clavis range for 2026, introducing new variants and expanding the feature set across multiple trims. The update focuses on broadening the model’s appeal with cosmetic enhancements, additional convenience features and wider availability of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
A key highlight is the introduction of GT-Line and X-Line trims. The GT-Line is available in GTX and GTX+ variants, while the X-Line is positioned as a more distinctive offering with a unique visual treatment. Both trims are offered exclusively with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine.
Visually, the GT-Line variants feature design changes such as updated bumpers, gloss black exterior elements, new alloy wheels and subtle sporty accents like coloured brake calipers and metal pedals. The X-Line version, on the other hand, is differentiated by a darker exterior theme, including an exclusive paint finish. Both trims also offer a 6-seat layout with second-row captain seats.
Kia has also redistributed features across the lineup. The HTK+ variant now includes an electric sunroof, which was previously limited to higher trims. From the HTK+(O) variant onwards, buyers get a panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps and a dashcam. These additions bring certain premium features to relatively more accessible variants without altering the overall variant hierarchy significantly.
Another notable update is the introduction of an ADAS-equipped variant at a lower price point, making advanced safety tech available to a wider set of buyers within the range.
Mechanically, the Carens Clavis remains unchanged. It continues to be offered with three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. Transmission choices include manual, iMT, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and a 6-speed torque converter automatic, depending on the variant.
Additionally, Idle Stop-Go (ISG) technology has been included to improve fuel efficiency, particularly in urban driving conditions.
Prices for the updated Carens Clavis range between Rs. 11.20 lakhs and Rs. 21.56 lakhs (ex-showroom), with the newly introduced GT-Line and X-Line trims positioned at the higher end of the lineup.
