Kia India has launched the Syros EV in the country with introductory prices starting at Rs. 13.49 lakhs (ex-showroom). The electric SUV is the company’s second locally manufactured mass-market EV and is available with two battery pack options, along with a range of ownership programmes.
The Syros EV is offered with a 42 kWh battery pack and a larger 51.4 kWh unit. The extended-range version delivers an ARAI-certified MIDC range of 526 km, while the smaller battery offers a claimed range of 443 km. The larger battery also makes the Syros EV the first model in its segment to claim a driving range exceeding 500 km.
Power output is rated at 171 PS, and the larger battery variant is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/hr in 8.1 seconds. The SUV supports 100 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in 39 minutes. It also features a 10.8 kW onboard AC charger, regenerative braking with i-Pedal mode, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, battery conditioning and a battery heating system.
To strengthen its EV ownership proposition, Kia has introduced a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, under which customers can purchase the vehicle chassis separately from the battery. The company says ownership prices start from Rs. 7.99 lakhs under this scheme, with battery payments beginning at Rs. 3.3 per kilometre. In addition, the Syros EV is backed by a 15-year unlimited-kilometre high-voltage battery warranty for the first owner and an introductory assured buyback programme offering a resale value of up to 80% after three years, subject to terms and conditions.
Kia has also expanded its charging ecosystem to support the Syros EV. Through its K-Charge platform, customers can access more than 20,300 charging points across 23 charging operators. The network is supported by over 129 Kia dealerships equipped with DC fast chargers and more than 275 EV-ready workshops across India.
Inside, the Syros EV features a 30-inch Trinity panoramic display integrating a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 5-inch climate control display. Other equipment includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Kia Connect with over 95 connected features, a Harman Kardon audio system, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, ambient lighting and a wireless phone charger.
On the safety front, the electric SUV comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS featuring 16 driver assistance functions, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear occupant alert and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
The Syros EV will be available in seven variants across the two battery options, with prices ranging from Rs. 13.49 lakhs to Rs. 19.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). Customer deliveries and sales are scheduled to begin from July 30, 2026.
