KTM 690 Enduro R & 690 SMC R Unveiled Globally, Meet Latest Emission Norms

KTM has unveiled the 2026 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R, bringing major updates to its iconic LC4 range. A heavily revised single-cylinder engine powers both models, with around half of their internal components being new.

Engine & Service Intervals

After meeting the latest emission regulations, the engines produce 79 HP and 73 NM of torque. The engine changes comprise a redesigned crankcase, clutch covers, an improved oil-delivery system, revised valve timing, and a reworked compact muffler. To reduce vibrations, KTM added rubber engine mounts and removed the secondary air system.

The maintenance intervals are now longer, with oil changes every 15,000km and valve clearance checks at 60,000km.

Features

KTM replaced the old LCD with a 4.2-inch colour TFT featuring KTMconnect, USB-C charging, and turn-by-turn navigation. For convenience, you added new backlit switchgear and a dedicated ABS-off button. Both models now feature standard lean-sensitive cornering ABS and cornering MTC.

Rally mode with adjustable traction and motor-slip regulation for off-road control is available the Enduro R. The SMC R features Track mode with launch control, anti-wheelie, slip adjuster, and Supermoto-specific ABS settings. You revised the suspension tuning, and the steel trellis frame is now stiffer for improved feel.

Other Changes & Expected India Launch

The Enduro R also gets updated bodywork, LED lighting, in-mould graphics, and a relocated centre-stand mount. Both models continue with WP suspension, tuned for their respective riding styles. Global deliveries start in September 2025, with the India launch date yet to be confirmed.
