KTM is working on updated 2022 model year Duke 250 and 125, which have been spied sporting new bodywork, a different swingarm, among other things.
While all eyes were on the Austrian bike manufacturer’s updated RC range of bikes, particularly the new RC 390. that have been continuously on test, the brand has set out to work on its small Duke models as well.
Although both bikes were recently updated thanks to the BS6 emissions regulations that came into effect last year, KTM has taken it upon itself to give them a proper update this time around.
Images of the 2022 KTM Duke 250 spied on test in Europe show that the bike will get rid of the Duke 390’s bodywork in favour of newly-designed body panels.
In addition, the quarter-litre motorcycle also gets a new subframe which gives way to a side-mounted rear monoshock. That is not all, for the swingarm has received an arched support brace too and not to forget the new alloy wheels.
Although the 125cc Duke, that was also caught testing, did not sport any bodywork, it is possible that the smallest Duke bike would receive the same set of restyled body panels as the updated Duke 250.
Those new panels will hide the revised trellis frame and subframe (which is longer now). Like the 2022 Duke 250, the Duke 125 also gets the arch bracing for the swingarm.
Nothing is known about the changes that might have been made to the powertrains of the motorcycles. But, since they were only recently upgraded, it is likely that KTM will leave them undisturbed for now.
