The India launch rumours were just speculative and completely incorrect

The Austrian manufacturer, KTM has responded about the rumours of Duke 790 being launched in India.

KTM India says that the Duke 790 is under evaluation and nothing has been finalised yet. The launch rumours were just speculative and completely incorrect. They will not launch the bike this year. However, the bike will be launched in India but there is nothing concrete about the time frame of launch.

The bike when launched will come to India via CKD route. The major parts like engine and chassis will be imported from Austria and other parts like wheels, body panel, lights, mirrors etc will be made locally and will be assembled in the company’s facility in Pune. The bike will come equipped with traction control, launch control and multiple riding modes. Apart from India, the Duke 790 will be manufactured in other KTM facilities too.

Powering the Duke 790 will be a 799cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine which churns out 103.5 BHP and 86 Nm of torque. The power unit will be mated to a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch. The bike will be priced under the Rs. 9 lakh mark. And with this price point, the bike when launched will take on the likes of the Kawasaki Z900, Triumph Street Triple, Ducati Monster 821 and Suzuki GSX-S750.
